The free home safety assessment takes about 30 to 45 minutes and is done right in your home. We walk through together, point out anything we notice, and leave you with a written report.
Is there any obligation after the free assessment?
None at all. The assessment is completely free , with no pressure to book anything further. Many people simply want the peace of mind of knowing where they stand.
My elderly parent will not accept help. What should I do?
This is very common, and you are not alone in feeling this way . Start gently: involve your parent in the decision rather than deciding for them, and begin with something low pressure, such as a free home safety assessment. Many families find that once their parent meets our team and sees there is no hard sell, they become far more open to further help.
How do I encourage my elderly mother or father to accept help?
Try focusing on what they can still do rather than what has become difficult. Frame the visit around something specific and low key, such as "let's just get the home checked for safety." Meeting a friendly, patient team in person often makes far more difference than any conversation at home.
What kind of home repairs do seniors typically need?

Yes. We install grab bars, ramps and walk-in showers to help make homes safer and easier to move around in. As with all our work, every installation is quoted and confirmed with you before we start.
Do you help with house cleaning or light housekeeping?
Yes. We offer light housekeeping as part of our daily assistance service, helping seniors keep a clean, safe and manageable home without the physical strain.
How much do your repair and handyman services cost?
Quick fixes, such as lightbulbs, tap washers and loose handles, start from R350. A half day session covering multiple jobs starts from R750. Every price is confirmed with you before any work begins, and there is never a call out fee.
Do you help with paying bills?
Yes. Many seniors find bills and paperwork overwhelming, whether due to memory difficulties or simply the hassle of getting to a branch or post office. We offer reliable bill payment assistance as part of our daily support service, so nothing important slips through the cracks.

Does Evergreen Assist charge a call-out fee?
No call out fee is ever charged. The safety assessment is free, and a clear quote is provided for any repair or assistance work before it begins. If you decide not to proceed, that is completely fine.
What are your operating hours?
We are available Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 18:00. Weekend visits can be arranged on request, though we generally prefer weekdays, as they tend to suit most seniors' routines better.
Can my children pay from overseas?
Yes. We can invoice a nominated family member directly and send photos of completed work so they can see exactly what has been done. Many of our clients have children living in London, Sydney or Perth .
Do you do big renovations or construction?
No. We specialise in small repairs, safety checks and daily assistance rather than large scale construction. For bigger jobs, we can refer you to trusted local tradespeople we have worked with, and oversee the work on your behalf if you would like us to.
